The Recall From Death

A person being dead is brought back to life seems to be unimaginable, however, in the village of Deptford on March 17th, the boy Dunstan Ramsay affirmed that he saw his brother Willie was brought back to life after he was dead. There was suspension about the authenticity of Willie’s death. Yet the boy Dunstan was still in favour to believe what he had seen.

Willie Ramsay has been suffering from chronic illness after worked at the printing shop. He was once injured by the printing press on the back and was left with bruise. Later his kidney started to dysfunction and the problem got worse. “I was really vey ill, so ill that I had periods of delirium,” claimed Willie. Not valid treatment was found at the time, so he was taken care at home by his family.

On Saturday the 17th, the Fall Fair was opened and Willie’s family went to attend except the youngest son Dunstan. He was designated to look after his brother and he had no complains about the task. “I was happy to do so. I would go to the fair after supper,” said Dunstan. He stayed with Willie until 3 pm, Willie’s symptom became serious. “He became restless and hot, some times he twisted and moaned, and later he became ceased to hear me. He jerked and convulsed, after he cried 5 or 6 times, he became extremely cold.”

Dunstan said he could neither hear Willie’s heartbeats nor detect his breath. For nobody was around, he went to find Mrs. Dempster and brought her to Willie’s beside. “She did nothing else but took his hand in hers and prayed. She called Willie’s name again and again, after a while, Willie signed and moved his leg a little. I could not believe what I had seen! Seriously!” Dunstan was amused by the miracle of his brother’s recall from death.

However, the miracle Dunstan had seen was questioned by Dr. McCausland. “Obviously Willie was not really dead. An unskilled person could not be expected to detect very faint breathing or heartbeat either. ” He did an operation for Willie to cure the illness in his kidney. Now Willie is recovering well and is satisfied about his condition.
